From me to YOU:
"You don't come into somebody's life, make them care, then just check out!"
YOU DON'T DO THAT! That's just totally being insensitive.
Screw you!

This is England
That is the title of the movie i promised myself never to watch again. Saw it a few years back and it left me feeling so down and sick in the stomach, i almost threw up. :(
This is England is a story about a troubled boy who gets into a fight at school and comes across a group of skinheads on his way home. They invite him to become part of their group and they become his new best friends. The story then revolves around these characters and brutal things happen.
I dunno, maybe it's just me, but i found the movie, visually offensive and pointless. And like i said, it almost made me throw up. Incidentally, UK is in a bad light nowadays. Kaya ko siguro biglang naalala yung movie.
Anyways, i still dream of going to England one day. Hope that when that day comes, hindi na uso ang riot at looting sa UK. :)
Oh btw, you may check out this website to know more about the movie and find out if you disagree with me or not. ;)

UPCAT
If there's one thing i'll forever regret, it is this: NOT TAKING THE UPCAT. :(
It's not that i don't like the school where i went to college. As a matter of fact, i do and i'm proud to be a PLMayer. Still, i envy those who went to UP, for the simple fact that UP is UP. But lemme make it clear, i'm not saying that, had i taken the UPCAT, i surely would have passed it and would be a iskolar ng bayan. It could have been otherwise. I guess, i'll never know. :( And that makes me envy more those who took the UPCAT, but unfortunately, didn't pass. At the very least, they were able to experience it and be a part of the "statistics." :D
But seriously, i take my hat off to those who went to UP. There are maybe some who make me say sarcastically, "taga-UP yun?!? parang hindi naman!", but in general, UP peeps are, for lack of a better term, intelligent. And competent. Confident. Aggressive. And the list goes on. ;)
I've read in the news that, this year's batch has the largest number of examinees. Ever. To those who took the exam today, congratulations. You've given it your best. Now's the time to chill and say a little prayer (again), regardless of the outcome. And to those who'll take their turn tomorrow, you should be sleeping now. Don't forget to eat your breakfast. Mahirap mag-isip kapag gutom. ;) Come prepared. But most of all, savor the moment.
Good luck, kids. :)

Tweet, tweet
KNEWIT!
I've been trying so hard not to give in, but I FAILED! I now have a twitter account, and true enough, I GOT HOOKED, right after I entered my username and password. But not on tweeting, though. Got hooked reading tweets of others. Hehe! I still don't know how to maximize the power of tweeting. :D Still need to learn the basics. Trying hard lang maki-in. Hahaha!
So there! I'll follow you, if you follow me @colettebulilit ;)
Happy tweeting!

Choo-choo train...
Sana naman wag mag-moment ang lrt tomorrow. :(
Sobrang nastressed ako pag-uwi when i got to Tayuman station and walang lrt. Super commute tuloy ako from Tayuman to Edsa Rotonda! Hangsakeeet sa pwet at sa likod! And to make things worse, umuulan pa! So shempre traffic-ness! Idagdag mo narin ang noise & air pollution. Plus pagod, antok and gutom. Stressed to the highest level! Hindi naman ako makatulog, kasi shempre, bawal mag-tanga-tangahan. Kelangan alerto at baka, alam mo na, magka-holdapan. Malas pa naman ako sa mga ganon. Impractical naman mag-taxi. Actually, wala kasi akong pang-taxi. Hehe! Haayy! Namiss ko tuloy bigla ang Antonio Rivera. Kahit walang lrt, taxi, jeep, pedicab or trike, kaya kong lakarin pauwi samen. Pero from Tayuman to Paranaque, isang malaking goodluck. Waaah! Kaloka talaga 'tong araw nato. Parang Monday lang.
Haay! Punuan na nga sa umaga ang lrt, hassle pa sa gabi! Ibalik nyo ko sa Makati! (naks, rhyming :D)
Oh well, tomorrow is another day. Good vibes, please.

Textmate, anyone?
Ha! I'm posting your number for the whole world to know. :) (Ok, i'm exaggerating...maybe not the whole world, but for those who read this blog and for my contacts in multiply to know.)
To the person whose number is 0916-2429953, this one's for you. :P
This person first texted me at the start of this year. Well, he/she doesn't send me obscene messages, nor does he/she send me jokes. In fact, it's the exact opposite. This person is sending me verses from the bible. He/She's done with Matthew's chapter and he/she's into Mark's now. Admittedly, I don't read the bible, but knowing that there are 12 disciples (12 nga ba? hehe), omigod, he/she might not be over soon with texting me.
Arrgh, it is getting annoying already. :(
When I get a text message/missed call from someone I don't know, automatically, I ask "who's this pls?" If I don't get a response, I let it go. I see it as a sign that the message was probably missent or he/she dialed the wrong number. So that's what I did with this case. But this person continued texting me, without me telling him/her off, even if I was starting to get annoyed already. So when January was about to end and I couldn't take it anymore (sorry, don't really appreciate getting text messages from people I don't know), I texted this person again and requested him/her to please stop texting me. It's already April and I'm still getting text messages, so obviously, he/she DID NOT STOP!
What's more exasperating is, this person ignores the messages I send him/her. I've sent him/her texts already asking if he/she knows me, and if not, to please stop texting me pero DEDMA! Kainis! Para akong nakikipag-usap sa machine! Bwiset! My sister and some friends said na baka nga raw automated chuva yun and nasama yung number ko sa list. Or baka raw missionary (missionary position lang ang alam ko, haha!) Oh see, sino ba namang hindi maiinis sa mga ganong texts diba? LOL! Hmm, teka...MAYBE this person knows me personally, and is trying to save me from going to hell. Bwahahaha!
Either way, I still don't appreciate it. Especially if I find out that we know each other and he/she was really trying to save me from going to hell. LOL!
***
Fast forward to a few days back. I got another quote from the bible from this person. Since the quote was not really applicable to me at that time, I replied and asked him/her to send me one about patience. Fifteen minutes after, I received 2 messages from the books of Hebrews and Luke. Surprise, surprise! Hmm, I can now disregard the machine theory (but not the missionary, hehe). And then just today, he/she sent me another quote that I didn't buy or didn't really agree with. The cynic in me asked if the quote was really true (tama bang kwestyunin yung nakasulat sa bible, hehe), and this person replied "Yup. Just have faith. :)" Uuuy, improving! At may smiley pa sha, o ha! :P
So totoong tao nga sha, hehe! Kaya lang tipid sumagot kasi when I texted back (with my 'confusing' question "but what if you do have faith but lack patience?"), he didn't reply na. Naguluhan din siguro sa tanong ko. Hahaha!
So guys and gals, baka you also need saving, haha! Text this person and let him/her know na gusto nyong mag-subscribe sa kanya. LOL!
Again, the number is 0916-2429953. ;)

The Tracks of My Tears
Truth is, this has been playing in my head for weeks now, even before the Motown episode of American Idol last night. I've been trying to keep this from everyone, but it doesn't help. Shyet! Life is one hell of a roller-coaster ride. Started the year right, and I thought it would continue. Pero bakit mukhang it's the other way around?!? :(
Shyet! I hate this feeling. My morale is at its lowest right now. This is torture. Shyet! Nade-depress na naman ako. :((

Rest in peace, Kiko
"Huwaaat?! No, hindi! Sana hindi totoo." :(
That was my initial reaction when I heard about the sad news. We were having lunch when my officemate calmly announced that Francis M passed away. We immediately checked for news in the internet, but at that time no confirmation yet. I also started receiving text messages asking if it was true. I was so anxious, because I kinda felt that heavy feeling. A few minutes after, my friend found a video of Vic Sotto making the announcement on Eat Bulaga. We all went to her station to watch it. I was teary-eyed. It's like I didn't know what hit me. I went back to my station and sulked. Was trying very hard not to cry but I couldn't help it. I cried for a bit and tried to process the thought that Kiko is already gone. But somehow, I was having a difficulty doing so.
A few months back, I wrote a post about the master rapper. This was the time when almost everybody found out about his sickness. I said in my post that I was in major disbelief to find out he had the Big C. You can just imagine how I am feeling now. I'm terribly sad. It's like I lost a person so dear to me. I'm starting to miss him already. :(
Francis Magalona was one of my idols growing up and until his last breath. I never had the chance to have my picture taken with him or have our cds signed, but I still felt a connection with him. Thank you so much for everything you've done and shared with us. You will surely be missed.
May you rest in peace, Kiko.

From batman to slumdog to adopting a kid to...
Went home early last night to watch the Oscars. When Heath Ledger's family accepted the Best Supporting Actor award, my tears started falling. Para akong tanga, haha! Ang babaw talaga ng luha ko! Namiss ko si papa Heath. :( Biglang nag-flashback tuloy yung scene last year when I found out about his death and blogged about it. He was really gone too soon.
Anyways, kahit na malakas mambasag ng trip ang kuya ko ("pinanalo na lang si Heath kasi naawa na lang sa kanya dahil natsugi"), I strongly believe that he deserves the award. Saw the movie on its first day of showing last year and when I got home that night, I could still picture the scenes on my head. He was really credible as the Joker and his take on it was remarkable. Although I'm a big fan of Jack Nicholson, I loved Heath's version of the Joker than Jack's. :) And like what I wrote in my post Missing the Joker, seeing him on that big screen made me forget, even for just a bit, that he was already gone. :)
--------------------------------
Was not surprised that the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" won the best pic. And I wouldn't complain had "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" won. I've seen and loved both movies and even recommended them in my multiply site. Panalo talaga. :) Still, I want to watch the 3 other nominated films.
'Twas such fun to see the whole Slumdog Millionaire crew on stage, especially Ayush, the boy who portrayed the youngest Jamal Malik. I sooo love the kid. Para akong naglilihi. Aaawww, I want one of my own. Talaga lang ha?!? Sige na nga, balik na lang muna ko sa pangarap ko na i-adopt yung kid. :P
---------------------------------
Speaking of adopting a kid, it's not gonna be easy to raise a child by myself. Shempre the child needs a father as well. At dahil dyan, naalala tuloy kita. So what's the real score? Are you STILL single - as in, not in any kind of relationship at all? Or single but not married yet? I'm hoping against hope that it's the former.
---------------------------------
So, get a move on Lil Miss Maldita! Now! Or else...

Making history
(This post is a week late.)
Rafael Nadal made history by being the first Spaniard to win the Australian Open by beating Roger Federer in 5 sets, 7-5 3-6 7-6(3) 3-6 6-2 in last week's finals. Not only did Rafa make history by setting a new record, he also made history by making his archrival, Roger Federer cry. Yup, if there was one man who reduced Roger to tears, IT WAS RAFA!
I was overjoyed when Rafa captured his first hard-court grand slam. I couldn't stop myself from screaming and jumping. But seeing Federer hurt and crying, I felt sorry for him. He didn't hold back his feelings and was brave enough to let the whole world see him in tears. Now, there's one more reason for people to admire him.
But then again, if you're a true-to-the-bone Rafa fanatic and anti-Federer, you couldn't help but feel mighty proud that the Spaniard has the superior advantage in their head-to-head meetings. It's his 13th victory in 19 meetings and his fifth over the Swiss in seven meetings in Grand Slam finals. Five out of seven in Grand Slam finals?!? Now, who's THE MAN?!? Whatever the FEDex fans say, Rafa fanatics will never lose if they stick to that argument. In fact, even Rafael Nadal can use that bit of info to emphasize his bragging rights. But he just won't!
Jessica Zafra was right on the mark when she said in her PhilStar column yesterday that, "The only person with gloating rights is Rafa, and he is too nice." One hundred percent true! During the awarding ceremony, Rafa was of those who applauded Federer and looked almost sheepish and apologetic when he came up on stage. He took the trophy quietly, held it up very briefly, and then went to put his arm around Roger and consoled him. That was truly one for the books.
I am looking forward to more moments like these. More excellent matches, more quality tennnis. One Grand Slam up, three more to go! Next stop is the Roland Garros which will run from May 24th to June 7th. For tennis fans like me, I cannot wait! But for the meantime, I will just content myself with major tournaments first. And oh yeah, cherish these photos. :)

A contest for the ages
Was supposed to stay longer in the office last night since I had to finish a lot of things at work. Tried to focus on work but at the same time, I was a constant visitor of the Ausralian Open website. Around 5 PM, I couldn't concentrate anymore. Was listening to the radio broadcast of the semifinals match between Rafael Nadal and Fernando Verdasco over the AU Open site. It was a close match, with the first set ending on a tie-break and going Verdasco's way. Since I couldn't contain my excitement any longer, I left the office with the score tied at 4-4, second set. Rafa went on to win that set and when I got home, the score was tied again, third set. I don't remember if it was 4-all or 5-all already though (memory gap, hehe). Should have went home earlier, but then again it's ok. 'Twas brilliant, brilliant tennis from that time on.
A sad note though: I feel sorry for Verdasco that he had to lose on a double fault. A costly mistake, indeed. But he needs to remind himself and put in his head that he played remarkable tennis the entire match, rather than torturing himself with that unforced error.
Anyhow, lemme share with you this article entitled "A contest for the ages" (though it would have been a lot better if you've witnessed the match). ;)
After five hours and 14 minutes of the most astonishing tennis that this year’s Australian Open has seen so far, Rafael Nadal set up his longed-for meeting with Roger Federer in the final. Their title decider at last year’s Wimbledon was a glorious spectacle, and while much is expected of Sunday’s Melbourne rematch, even a contest between the world’s two best players would be hard-pushed to equal the adrenalin-fuelled brilliance of Nadal’s 6-7(4) 6-4 7-6(2) 6-7(1) 6-4 win over compatriot Fernando Verdasco in a semifinal which lit up Rod Laver Arena. Australian Open Updates
It's already the second week of the Australian Open and it's down to the last four men and women in the Grand Slam.
World number 1, Rafael Nadal beat Frenchman Gilles Simon in their quarterfinals match earlier and will face fellow Spaniard, Fernando Verdasco in the semis on Friday, while Roger Federer will go up against Andy Roddick in the other semis match tomorrow night. If you're one of those three loyal readers I have, you probably know by now that I am a big, big fan of Rafael Nadal. :) So obviously, I'm rooting for him and wishing that he gets his first hard court grand slam title. *fingers crossed* You probably also know that I go for anyone but Roger Federer. But right now, it doesn't really matter whether Rafa faces him or Andy. All I want is for Nadal to win the title. ;)
As for the women, Russian Elena Dementieva will try to continue her winning streak against Serena Williams in the first semis match, while the other match will be an all-Russian semifinals between Dinara Safina and Vera Zvonareva. Williams is undoubtedly, one of the greatest women tennis players, but boy, she gets me fired up whenever she speaks and answers questions during interviews. Such big ego she has! It'll be such a slap in the face if Dementieva gets past Williams. I hope she does. But if not, I'm hoping Safina will give her a difficult time in the finals.
Vamos Rama! Go Safina!

Chuchay-ism
"Take nothing but photos
Leave nothing but footprints
Kill nothing but time
Bring back nothing but memories"
:) :) :)
(Mag)Disclaimer(daw ako sabi ni Chuchay).
So eto na yun. Hindi talaga sa kanya galing yung quote. Natisod lang nya sa net' "climbers mantra" raw. ;) Kasi ba naman, planning stage pa lang, bigla na lang nyang hinirit yung mga linyang yun. Shempre with feelings pa. Classic Chuch talaga! Napabilib na naman tuloy ako. :P

STARSTRUCK-NESS
Re-posting my niece's post :)
STARSTRUCK-NESS
Ha! Ha! Starstruck-ness:)
OMG! Kasi it started at my cousins birthday party... HA!HA!
The usual kiddie party scheme, games tapos kainan na. While I was eating, one of my titos took a picture, we had to compress para mag fit. I sat beside Tita Colette and smiled... After that we were both looking towards the entrance of the driveway, then we saw HIM. JAZZ NICOLAS in the flesh. I remembred that he was my tita-in-law's cousin. Ngek! Tita Colette and I had the same reaction.. WHOA!
GRABEH! Tita Colette and I just stared at him. Tapos yun nag fade away. Then after a few, he asked me if anyone was using the seat beside me.. I was like. Wala po. Then he got the chair. WHOANESS to the MAXX! After a minute, he asked me again the same question, then he got the chair. My Tita Colette was bugging me to the maxx na. She was forcing me to get an autograph and ask for a picture. I was like 'ano ka hilo?' Then tita Candy and my daddy became curious. Tita Colette told them and they were bugging me to the maxx as well. Then My Dad told Tito Arn, and he was like "go for it' tapos he said dahil sa Itchyworms.. blah, blah. I was super duper embarassed na. I was thinking that he could already hear us na and stuff. Haha! I left and watch Wall-E
I came back and got ice cream and sat in my seat again. Haha! They started to bug me again and I went to the washroom. Then I came back and they still bugged me. Haha! Tita Candy was like 'don't let the cance pass, ma dissapoint ka' ,Ngek! Hindi pa rin ako nag pa picture.
Then He left with his family. Good. But I was darn sad I didn't get to ask for a picture or a photo. HAHA!!
So well... Oh update on my finger, wala na, okay na siya, yung skin nalang yung problem.
Tita Colette, ENJOY!
Lotsa Love!

DISCLAIMER:
Hindi naman ako mashadong na-starstruck. :P Was just surprised to see him at my nephew's birthday party. :)

Thank God for MMDA officers
Last night's incident in EDSA was one of the scariest situations I've ever been.
My dad, sis & i were on our way home when the car that my dad was driving suddenly stopped. Yes, the car stopped right in the busy streets of Edsa! We were at the leftmost lane and just a few meters away from Buendia. My dad tried to start it up but nothing happened. It seemed like the battery got drained out. My dad did everything he could, but still, the car wouldn't start. We were beginning to cause a minor build-up already and we were all getting worried. What made the situation worse was, the cars behind us were pounding on their horns incessantly. This made my dad a bit more stressed. Argh! Wanted so much to get out of the car and scream my lungs out at them. Hello! As if we wanted for this to happen! But of course, i kept quiet. Since i know nothing about cars and about driving, that was the most i can do at that time, aside from praying of course. I felt sorry for my dad because he doesn't need this kind of stress. He's 72 years old and fact is, he should not be driving anymore. But my two single brothers who still live with us, don't know how to drive, as well. My sis knows how, but has never tried driving in Edsa yet and my dad wouldn't allow her to. Not yet anyway. Still, i commend my sis for being so calm and responsible. She immediately called my other (married) brothers and informed them of what happened. She didn't let panic to get the best of her. I know she was also scared but she didn't show it.
Anyhow, good thing, there were MMDA officers near the area. They helped set up the early warning device and directed the flow of traffic. When my dad told them that the car wouldn't start, they said they'd push the car until we reach the Emergency Bay. There were three of them. This got me thinking, "How on earth are they gonna do that?!" The Emergency Bay was on the other side, at the rightmost lane. In order for us to reach that point, we would have to cross the street. It didn't look easy since Edsa was so busy at that time. A lot of vehicles were passing through and they were all coming so fast. But there was no other way! This was the time when i hit the panic button. I was so scared! Scared for my family and for the three guys who were pushing the car. I couldn't help it, but i was really bothered by the thought of being hit by another vehicle. But i know we were all silently praying that nothing bad would happen to us. Except for that rampaging bus that overtook us and didn't even bother to slow down, no more untoward accident happened. THANK GOD we were able to get to the other side in one piece.
We asked for the MMDA to call their towing service. While waiting for the wrecker, the MMDA checked the battery and the other parts and doused it with water. Then my dad started the car again and it worked. It turned out the battery overheated and the radiator had some leaks already. We were advised to drive to the nearest gasoline station to have the car checked. The MMDAs were nice enough to not give us any ticket (for obstruction) and for telling us that they'd cancel the towing service. They were also very helpful and we all felt their sincerity in assisting us. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I know MMDA officers don't get a lot of respect now from us, the people. But believe me, THERE ARE STILL SOME GOOD EGGS OUT THERE WHO ARE WILLING TO HELP THE BEST WAY THEY CAN!

Saw this in the Supreme Section of The Philippine Star this morning. *big, big smile* :)
This just in! Supreme Eheads scoop!
Eheads fans, this one's for you!
It’s confirmed. The Eraserheads concert “The Final Set” is set.
Save the date: March 7, 2009. The concert is to be produced by MTV and Smart with the venue yet to be announced. For now, it’s a tossup between The Fort and SM Mall of Asia grounds.
They're just about to sign the contract and will have their press conference on January 19. We know you can’t wait, that’s why we’re already telling you — remember, you read it here first in Supreme!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Best news i've ever read so far this year. :P
Can't wait. Super, super excited! Definitely saving the date and will not plan to do anything on that day except to watch the four guys (or maybe 5 ;)) do their stuff and more! :)
See y'all!
