STARSTRUCK-NESS
STARSTRUCK-NESS
Ha! Ha! Starstruck-ness:)
OMG! Kasi it started at my cousins birthday party... HA!HA!
The usual kiddie party scheme, games tapos kainan na. While I was eating, one of my titos took a picture, we had to compress para mag fit. I sat beside Tita Colette and smiled... After that we were both looking towards the entrance of the driveway, then we saw HIM. JAZZ NICOLAS in the flesh. I remembred that he was my tita-in-law's cousin. Ngek! Tita Colette and I had the same reaction.. WHOA!
GRABEH! Tita Colette and I just stared at him. Tapos yun nag fade away. Then after a few, he asked me if anyone was using the seat beside me.. I was like. Wala po. Then he got the chair. WHOANESS to the MAXX! After a minute, he asked me again the same question, then he got the chair. My Tita Colette was bugging me to the maxx na. She was forcing me to get an autograph and ask for a picture. I was like 'ano ka hilo?' Then tita Candy and my daddy became curious. Tita Colette told them and they were bugging me to the maxx as well. Then My Dad told Tito Arn, and he was like "go for it' tapos he said dahil sa Itchyworms.. blah, blah. I was super duper embarassed na. I was thinking that he could already hear us na and stuff. Haha! I left and watch Wall-E
I came back and got ice cream and sat in my seat again. Haha! They started to bug me again and I went to the washroom. Then I came back and they still bugged me. Haha! Tita Candy was like 'don't let the cance pass, ma dissapoint ka' ,Ngek! Hindi pa rin ako nag pa picture.
Then He left with his family. Good. But I was darn sad I didn't get to ask for a picture or a photo. HAHA!!
So well... Oh update on my finger, wala na, okay na siya, yung skin nalang yung problem.
Tita Colette, ENJOY!
Lotsa Love!

Thank God for MMDA officers
My dad, sis & i were on our way home when the car that my dad was driving suddenly stopped. Yes, the car stopped right in the busy streets of Edsa! We were at the leftmost lane and just a few meters away from Buendia. My dad tried to start it up but nothing happened. It seemed like the battery got drained out. My dad did everything he could, but still, the car wouldn't start. We were beginning to cause a minor build-up already and we were all getting worried. What made the situation worse was, the cars behind us were pounding on their horns incessantly. This made my dad a bit more stressed. Argh! Wanted so much to get out of the car and scream my lungs out at them. Hello! As if we wanted for this to happen! But of course, i kept quiet. Since i know nothing about cars and about driving, that was the most i can do at that time, aside from praying of course. I felt sorry for my dad because he doesn't need this kind of stress. He's 72 years old and fact is, he should not be driving anymore. But my two single brothers who still live with us, don't know how to drive, as well. My sis knows how, but has never tried driving in Edsa yet and my dad wouldn't allow her to. Not yet anyway. Still, i commend my sis for being so calm and responsible. She immediately called my other (married) brothers and informed them of what happened. She didn't let panic to get the best of her. I know she was also scared but she didn't show it.
Anyhow, good thing, there were MMDA officers near the area. They helped set up the early warning device and directed the flow of traffic. When my dad told them that the car wouldn't start, they said they'd push the car until we reach the Emergency Bay. There were three of them. This got me thinking, "How on earth are they gonna do that?!" The Emergency Bay was on the other side, at the rightmost lane. In order for us to reach that point, we would have to cross the street. It didn't look easy since Edsa was so busy at that time. A lot of vehicles were passing through and they were all coming so fast. But there was no other way! This was the time when i hit the panic button. I was so scared! Scared for my family and for the three guys who were pushing the car. I couldn't help it, but i was really bothered by the thought of being hit by another vehicle. But i know we were all silently praying that nothing bad would happen to us. Except for that rampaging bus that overtook us and didn't even bother to slow down, no more untoward accident happened. THANK GOD we were able to get to the other side in one piece.
We asked for the MMDA to call their towing service. While waiting for the wrecker, the MMDA checked the battery and the other parts and doused it with water. Then my dad started the car again and it worked. It turned out the battery overheated and the radiator had some leaks already. We were advised to drive to the nearest gasoline station to have the car checked. The MMDAs were nice enough to not give us any ticket (for obstruction) and for telling us that they'd cancel the towing service. They were also very helpful and we all felt their sincerity in assisting us. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU SO MUCH!
I know MMDA officers don't get a lot of respect now from us, the people. But believe me, THERE ARE STILL SOME GOOD EGGS OUT THERE WHO ARE WILLING TO HELP THE BEST WAY THEY CAN!

The Story Behind Your Universe:))
This is my niece's blog post. I'm re-posting it here because of two reasons:
1) 'though an accident happened that night, 'twas one great bonding experience for us. Just pigging out and staying up late and making the remote control go crazy coz we kept on switching (music) channels.
2) i like the way Inna writes. Shempre, one proud tita ako! ;-)
Here's the link to her site:
http://innalagzon.multiply.com/journal/item/10/The_Story_Behind_Your_Universe
I didn't lose a finger neither did I play with fireworks. But I nearly got my left ring finger chopped off.
I decided to stay and be left in my Lolo's house in Paranaque after we came there for Christmas. I didn't have clothes or anything. Good thing my titas and I are just the same size:p. On my second day my brother decided to follow and stay. I asked my dad to bring me clothes cause I knew I was going to stay longer than 2 days. I told my mom over the phone on what to pack. She packed everything that I asked her too. My mom didn't think of the other stuff that I needed like slippers. Ha! Ha! My feet are twice the size of my titas. It was funny that their slippers sorta fit me.
Tita Colette was obesessing over her new found love. Rico Blanco. Ha! Ha! We looked for 'Your Universe' chords over the net and sang along with it with me playing the guitar. I think she'd gotten over Ely B. That was good.
On my third night, We went over to the nearest mall which was SM Bicutan. We went to the grocery and bought stuff. I thought of baking oatmeal cookies when we got back home. I baked the cookies and we ate them with whip cream on top. I put too much coffee. I decided to get some milk and put some whip cream on top. Rico Blanco's song 'Your Universe' was playing on one of the music channels. I thought of how I was going to drink it without sipping it from the cup itself. I asked TIta Candy if they had straws anywhere. She said they did have and they were over the sliding cabinet that we all knew was prone to breaking so she told me to be careful. I was careful but then it happened. One of the sliding glass doors of the cabinet came out. I tried catching it but it fell to the floor. The glass broke in my hand. I thought nothing bad happened until I saw the blood rushing out of my finger. I was never scared of blood, not until yesterday. I thought it was never going to stop rushing out of my finger. That was scary. They rushed me to the sink to flush my hand with water. Tito Alex said to continue what we were doing and wait for the bleeding to stop so we can see if my finger need to be stiched up. I panicked at the sound of 'stiched up', I never liked needles in my body. I started crying. Tita Colette and Tita Candy tried to me laught and feel better. Ang Kodak momment nun. They started to clean the tiny glass pieces so that it wouldn't hurt anybody else. They wrapped my finger in a hankee and put it over ice. Then they looked at it. It made me sick. The skin looked like it was about to come off with a piece of my meat. Ewww... I didn't want to be stiched up so instead they cleaned it and wrapped around wi fingersth gauze.
Then we saw it again, Your Universe. We decided to call the story Your Universe.
Good thing Edward and Jasper weren't around. *wink, wink*
No guitar playing for awhile :((
It was partly my fault and the straws. Ha! Ha! nag feeling Starbucks kasi:P
Happy New Year!! Don't lose any of your fingers!
----Inna
P.S. I'll try to upload some photos of my finger a day after:p

Just a little correction:
"Tita Colette was obesessing over her new found love. Rico Blanco...I think she'd gotten over Ely B. That was good."
I've always loved Rico Blanco since his Rivermaya days. Was actually glad when he took over Bamboo (since i was not and still am, not a Bamboo fan). But then again, yeah, i was first and foremost an Ely Buendia fanatic. :) So Rico had to stay in the background. Haha! BUT, i think i'm one of those super excited when Rico had gone solo. I was like, 'finally, it's 'bout time." :)
So you see, he's not really a new found love. ;-) I'm just more obsessed with him now than before. Hehe! And NO, i have not gotten over Ely yet! I think that will never happen. ;-)

Nose-bleed
We got a long-distance call from an older cousin who's been living in the US for, give or take, 25 years now. My cousin still knows her tagalog, but of course, she does have the american twang already. She first talked to my dad and then after a while, I heard my dad talking in english. He was talking to my nephew, Myles, who's only been here in the Philippines when he was around, I think, 12-13 years old. Myles was born and raised in the US, so naturally, he doesn't really speak our language. But my dad used to be an english teacher so 'twas easy for him to converse with Myles. :)
Ok, this is the fun part. Or funny is more like it. :P
When my turn came to talk to my cousin, she said that I'd be speaking with Myles also. So I was like "Ok." I was suprised 'coz suddenly I heard my nephew's voice.
Colette: Hi Myles!
Myles: Hi Colette!
C: Do you know me?
M: Uhm, no :)
C: I'm Chris' sister, younger sister
M: Oh ok. It feels weird talking to someone you don't really know. (he sounded like he was shy and apologetic at the same time)
Dead air...
And then I heard his mom asking him to say "Maligayang Pasko!"
C: Can you say Maligayang Pasko?
M: No :) I don't wanna say it out loud (or basta he said something pa, can't remember na, haha!)
C: How old are you?
M: Tweny (silent t, haha)
C: Tweny (para may masabi lang, haha). Do you go to school?
M: Yeah, I can't afford not to go to school. 'Coz if I don't go to school, I'd be no one (alam ko, no one talaga sinabi nya, hindi nobody...nagsisimula na, nafi-feel ko na)
Dead air...this time 'twas a lot longer.
C: Sorry, what was that? You can't afford to go to school?
M: Can't afford NOT to go to school
C: Oh ok
Dead air forever.
Inulit pa kasi eh, na-gets ko naman yung sinabi nya. Napaisip tuloy ako at na-conscious bigla. :P
This was the part na naubusan na talaga ako ng baon! Didn't know what to say next, and I guess, he felt the same way, 'coz he also wasn't talking. Nose-bleed to the nth power. Haha! And 'twas not just because it was already two in the morning kaya low-batt na my brains. Hehe! I'm just not really good with small talks, even if it was a relative. Not knowing what to say and to say it in english only made the situation worse. Haha!
So want to know how our conversation ended?
After what seemed like forever, I just said "wait," with emphasis on the last letter. As in maririnig mo talaga yung 't' sound. DMO-style, haha! (Chuch and Dru, kasalanan nyo 'to!).
I put the phone down without even telling him and then begged for my sister to save me. Shucks! I know I should not be embarrassed, but I am. LOL!
Was eaten alive by a twenty-year-old kid. I kill me. Haha!
Oh well, happy, happy christmas everyone! :)

An open letter to my mommy
Hey mommy! Belated happy mother’s day! I’m sorry if I wasn’t able to visit you last Sunday. You know naman that it’s only daddy who knows how to drive (well, Candy knows how but she doesn’t have her license yet and I don’t trust her, hehe) and since it was raining in the morning, daddy decided not to push through with the plan anymore. He’s not getting any younger and with the bad weather and all, it would be hard for him to drive all the way from Paranaque to Marikina. Hehe, isisi ba sa daddy? :-) Anyhow, Angelo, his wife Vina, and the kids, Inna & Luigi were able to make it and they went straight to Paranaque after. And oh yeah, I think you were able to see Galo too coz Angelo said Bwana also dropped by your place. :-)
Well, today is another special day coz it’s your birthday. Happy, happy birthday mommy! :-) So how does it feel to be 66? :-) I'm pretty sure you're missing us up there but then again I know that you're always looking after us down here. I also know that you're always with us, as if you didn't leave at all. It feels great to have our own guardian angel. Hehe!
So what's up? What's summer like in heaven? :D Down here, to say that it's hot is an understatement. It's super duper crazy hot!!! But you know how pinoys are. Sunny/Hot weather=Summer=Beach=FUN,FUN,FUN. Not too many people complaining, which is a good thing. We'll also go to the beach end of the month. It's my first time with a new set of friends, new co-workers, and I'm positive we'll have a good time. :) Oh yeah, don't worry about me, I won't go swimming (since I don't know how hehe) or skinny-dipping (hahaha!), but I'll try to get my feet and my hair wet somehow. Hehehe!
Hey mommy, I need to go now. People here in the office might notice I'm not really working :P Just remember that I love you so much. Please continue to look after us. 'Will talk to you soon.
Love,
Colette

Mommy
I don’t remember any birthday celebrations at all coz she passed away when I was only 7 years old.
I feel guilty coz it seems like I have neglected her, forgotten her. I don’t have enough memories to remember her by.
There are even times that I don’t remember her.
But one thing I’m so sure of --- I love her so much!
I thank her for bringing us into this world.
19 years of living without a mom. Sad.
But I’d rather have it this way than to have another mom.
Happy birthday mommy!

Happy 2005!
I have so many things to blog about but so little time. I don't even know where to start. But since it's a new year, I decided my first blog for 2005 would be about the significant and not-so-significant events (?) that have happened in the last 12 months.
Okay, I think this is gonna be long... :-)
January
Not-so-Happy-New-Year
It was the first day of the year and I was not so thrilled! I texted TheOne and greeted him a happy new year but he didn't freakin reply. As in Ni-ha, Ni-ho, Wala! There was no way he didn't get the message coz I was 100% sure that it was sent. There were some friends who didn't text back, but it was different. He was different. He was the first one who texted me last Christmas and I texted him back. So I figured, I would greet him first on new year's day and I did! But why, oh why, did he not reply? I honestly don't have any freakin clue. Fuck! He certainly picked the best date to ignore me. Thank you very much.
Welcome to the world
I have a new nephew and his name is Galo. He's so cute. I think all babies are. :-)
New year, new job
Exactly a month after I resigned from my previous work, I got a text message from the headhunter that I got the job. It happened so fast. I haven't even tried looking for a job yet, but somehow, this headhunter had me in their old files. They called me up on January 16th, took the exam on the 19th and had the final interview on the 21st. That same day, I got the message that I passed. It's funny coz at that time, I told myself that I'm not gonna work in a call center anymore. Flashback: was accepted in a call center and started work Oct 27th. Almost 2 months after, Dec 21st, I tendered my resignation. It was my first time to work in a call center and I was not happy with it. I figured I was not meant for this kind of job. But things do happen for a reason. I was not looking for a job but the opportunity presented itself. It must have meant something right? Fast forward to 2005: a few more days and I'll be celebrating my 1 year with the company - and I still haven't figured out the meaning of all these. Darn! Am I that stupid or shall I blame it on my lack of sleep?
New year, old friends
I got the surprise of my life when I got a text message from Lhet, one of my close friends in college. She went abroad and I didn't know that she was back. Since it has been a while when we last saw each other, as well as the rest of the barkada, we decided to have a get-together. Though we missed Caieh and Jhoan, it was still fun. It was nice seeing old friends again, this time, together with their kids and hubbies. It was only Tere and I who don't have our own families yet. Omigod! Lhet has 2 kids now and I'm still single. Girls, wait for me. :-)
It's good to make new friends, but it's even better if you keep the old ones. Ohh...I just miss these old good friends so much! :-)
February
Guinea pigs
Nothing much happened in Feb except that I started working for West. We first had training and had Americans for trainers. They were nice - well, they should be! After 2 weeks, we started taking calls. The first day was toxic. Most of us didn't even want to go to work the next day. Imagine getting calls about issues you didn't even discuss in training. Some of the trainers were no help at all. Pathetic.
to be continued....hehe!

Another baby boy in the family
I've got a new nephew. His name is Nathaniel (his parents haven't decided yet on a second name) and he was born last Tuesday, Nov 16th. He's so cute and he looks like my brother. May cleft-chin pa (trademark daw ng mga gwapo sabi ng kuya ko, haha!) .
Lakas talaga ng dugo ng daddy ko.
I have six brothers and now I already have three nephews and one niece.
Hmm...I wonder if I'm gonna have a baby boy also for my first child. :-) It doesn't really matter whether it's a boy or a girl just as long as the baby is healthy.
